How do I edit, clone and delete an event in Thynk's Event Manager?

    By · Published · Updated

    Short answer

In Thynk's Event Manager you edit events inline in the events table, with live date and time validation and availability checks, then click Apply. Clone an event and its products to other booking days with the Clone button, or delete an event and its products from the row menu.

    Full answer

Thynk's Event Manager lets sales, catering and conference services teams manage every event on a group booking directly in the events table, without opening each event. Editable columns show a pencil on hover, and you can double-click any cell to edit it inline.

In the What column you edit the event name and Agreed Guests; in When, the start and end dates and times. Thynk validates dates and times as you type, shows a +1 marker for events that run past midnight, and moves the end date automatically when you change the start date. You can also change the Event Type, Setup and Status, and pick a new Function Space with an optional Update Prices checkbox. Thynk checks the space is available before saving. Your edits are highlighted in purple until you click Apply.

To clone an event, tick its checkbox and click Clone. Choose the booking days and a quantity per day, and optionally update event and related product prices. Thynk copies the event, its times and its products in one step, which is ideal for breakout rooms or repeating a full day of a MICE programme.

To delete, open the arrow menu at the end of the event's row and click Delete. After a confirmation, Thynk removes the event and its related products.
