How do I edit a booking in Thynk, including its dates and number of guests?

    By · Published · Updated

    Short answer

Open the booking and use the pencil icons in Details to edit fields, the Change Dates button to move dates (optionally repricing rooms, products and function space), and the Guests field to update headcount across matching packages, products and events. Assigned Team Members sets the Owner and Sales Manager, and the History tab logs every change.

    Full answer

Keeping bookings up to date in Thynk means your proposals, contracts, BEOs and reports and any PMS interface always reflect the latest details. Open the booking from search or the Bookings tab: the Details panel on the left holds the booking fields, and the Related tab on the right holds booking packages, events and booking products.

    • Booking fields: click any pencil icon, make your changes and click Save. With Opera Cloud connected, updates to Business Segment, Type, Source, Origin or Guarantee Code flow to linked room blocks automatically.
    • Dates: use the Change Dates button at the top right so every part of the booking moves together. Tick Update Room Rates, Update Product Prices or Update Function Space Prices to reprice for the new dates using your pricing rules, including dynamic pricing, or leave them unticked to keep the agreed prices.
    • Guests: edit the Guests field and Thynk updates every package, product and event that matched the previous headcount, while checking room occupancy and function space capacity for you.
    • Team: in Assigned Team Members, set the Owner and, where a proactive seller booked the business, a separate Sales Manager, so reports credit the right person.

Use Multi-Edit or Multi-Delete in the Related tab to update several items in one step, and check the booking's History tab to see every change.
