How do I create invoices, cancellation invoices and proforma invoices in Thynk?
By Thynk· Published · Updated
On a booking's Finance tab, the Invoicing wizard builds an invoice from the full booking or selected items, a cancellation invoice from an amount or percentage, or a proforma deposit invoice. Set Bill To, dates and Final or Partial type, optionally credit earlier invoices automatically, then issue it or save it as a draft.

Thynk's Invoicing module lets finance and sales teams bill straight from the booking with a guided wizard. It is available for properties using VAT. Open the booking's Finance tab (or More > Finance), go to the Invoicing panel, keep the Document Type set to Invoice and choose how to build it:
- Full Booking bills every guest room, product and event automatically, while Select Items lets you pick exactly which lines to bill.
- Cancellation Invoice charges a cancellation fee set either as an amount or as a percentage of the total booking.
- Proforma creates a deposit request as a percentage of the booking total or as a fixed deposit amount.
Complete Bill To (it defaults to the booking's account and contact, and you can also search by guest name), the Invoice Date and the Due Date. Set the Invoice Type to Final, or to Partial for instalments, and tick Credit Issued Invoices to clear earlier deposit or partial invoices automatically when you issue the final one. Review the billable items, switch amounts between excluding and including tax, check the summary, then click Issue Invoice, or Save As Draft to finish later. Issued invoices are locked for consistent, audit-ready records, and every invoice is saved under Invoices on the booking. If Invoicing isn't on your bookings yet, your Thynk admin can contact Thynk Support.
