How does Thynk set OPERA Cloud PMS account types for companies and agents?

    By · Published · Updated

    Short answer

When Thynk creates a PMS Account in OPERA Cloud via OHIP, company accounts become CORPORATE profiles and agent accounts become TRAVEL_AGENT profiles; OPERA Cloud handles group profile types as part of its own process.

    Full answer

When Thynk creates a PMS Account in OPERA Cloud through the Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP), it chooses the OPERA profile type from the kind of account held in Thynk. That keeps company and travel agent profiles in OPERA aligned with the accounts sales teams already work with in Salesforce.

    How the type is set:

    • Company accounts: Thynk requests a CORPORATE profile in OPERA Cloud.
    • Agent accounts: Thynk requests a TRAVEL_AGENT profile in OPERA Cloud.
    • Group profiles: OPERA Cloud manages the group profile type as part of its own block and profile process.

Because the mapping follows the Thynk account type, hotels do not need a separate flag on each outbound request to decide whether OPERA should treat the profile as a company or a travel agent. Sales managers create or update the account in Thynk as usual; when the PMS Account is sent, OPERA receives the matching profile type.

This gives group and MICE teams a consistent picture across Thynk and OPERA Cloud: corporate accounts stay corporate, travel agents stay travel agents, and room blocks remain linked to the right PMS profiles for pickup, billing and reporting.
