How does Thynk handle account merges with Mews?

    By · Published · Updated

    Short answer

Merging companies or travel agents in Mews updates the merged PMS Account in Thynk to reference the surviving profile and moves the primary flag to it; merging accounts in Thynk brings all related records under one account while leaving Mews profiles untouched.

    Full answer

Thynk keeps company and travel agent data consistent with Mews, whichever system your team uses to clean up duplicates. Each Thynk account can be linked to one or more PMS Accounts, which represent the matching profiles held in Mews.

When companies or travel agents are merged in Mews:

    • The PMS Account of the merged profile is updated in Thynk to reference the profile it was merged into, so the link between the two is always clear.
    • If the merged PMS Account was the primary one for its Thynk account, the primary flag moves automatically to the surviving PMS Account.

When accounts are merged in Thynk:

    • You merge the Thynk accounts themselves rather than the PMS Accounts.
    • All related records from the account's related lists come together under the single surviving account, giving sales teams one complete view of the relationship.
    • The profiles in Mews are left untouched, because every record is kept.

This gives teams the freedom to tidy data where it suits them best. Front-office teams can consolidate company and agency profiles in Mews, while sales managers merge duplicate accounts in Thynk, and both systems continue to give an accurate, connected picture of every company and agency across the portfolio.
