# How does Thynk send tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive group block rates to OPERA Cloud?

> Thynk sends OPERA Cloud group block rates through OHIP, and the Include Tax setting on the Thynk Booking Property decides whether tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive amounts are sent. Hotels with tax-inclusive OPERA rate codes should enable it.

Thynk is a Salesforce-native hospitality commercial platform for hotel and venue sales, catering, events and MICE.

## Full answer

Thynk sends group block rates to OPERA Cloud through the Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP). Each block carries a clear rate grid of amounts for one- to four-person occupancy plus an extra person, and OPERA Cloud reads those amounts according to how the rate code is set up on the PMS side.

Two settings on the Booking Property in Thynk control exactly which amount is sent:

Include Tax: when enabled, Thynk sends tax-inclusive amounts; when disabled, it sends amounts excluding tax.

Send To PMS Room Rate With Is Inclusive: when enabled, Thynk sends the unit price (room rate plus inclusive items); when disabled, it sends the room rate only.

For a hotel whose OPERA rate codes are tax inclusive, enable Include Tax on the Booking Property so that OPERA receives gross amounts that match its rate code configuration. Because these settings apply to the whole Booking Property, group pricing stays consistent across every block for that hotel.

The same Include Tax setting is also used when Thynk reads rate schedules back from OPERA, so prices are stored in the matching tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive fields and both systems stay aligned.
