# How does Thynk automatically create room blocks for event-only bookings?

> By default Thynk can auto-create a zero-room room block when an event-only booking reaches its second stage, refresh the Enhanced Room Block Manager immediately, and keep empty blocks collapsed until users expand them; properties can ask support to turn auto-creation off.

Thynk is a Salesforce-native hospitality commercial platform for hotel and venue sales, catering, events and MICE.

## Full answer

In Thynk, event-only bookings (meetings and events with no guest rooms) can still need a room block so the property stays aligned with its PMS, for example so a paymaster account can be created. A property-level setting controls whether Thynk automatically creates that room block when a booking moves to its second stage with no guest rooms.

When auto-creation is on (the default):

Thynk creates a room block with zero guest rooms as the booking advances.

The Enhanced Room Block Manager refreshes at once, so users see the new block without reloading the page.

Room blocks with no guest rooms stay collapsed by default, with a View control to expand and add rooms when needed.

The setting applies to properties on supported PMS connections, including OPERA Cloud via OHIP, Mews and StayNTouch. It leaves bookings that already have a room block or guest rooms unchanged. Properties that prefer to create room blocks only by hand can ask Thynk support to turn auto-creation off for that property.

This keeps event-only workflows consistent across group sales and MICE teams: the diary and PMS stay in step, while empty room blocks remain easy to spot and expand when overnight rooms are added later.
