# How do I add a new event to a booking in Thynk's Event Manager?

## Full answer

Thynk's Event Manager helps sales and conference services teams add events to group bookings, conferences and MICE programmes from the Events tab on a booking. Open the booking, select the Events tab, then click Add Event to open the New Booking Event side panel.

Assign a Function (function type) first. By default, Thynk names the event from the function type and function space, for example Wedding – Ballroom. Next choose a Function Space filtered to the property on the event. For a multi-property booking, set the property on the event before selecting a space. If you leave the function space blank, Thynk assigns the property's default To Be Confirmed space. Agreed Guests defaults to the booking guest count, and you can set an optional Setup style.

The start date defaults to the booking's first date. When you save, Thynk can fill start and end times, setup and related defaults from Booking Event Defaults for that function type, then the parent product, then property settings. Event Status is prefilled from your property's booking-to-event status mapping, and you can set a different status when needed — for example holding space on a tentative booking, or keeping an inquired status for a possible extra event on a confirmed booking.

Enter unit price, pricing type, discount or complimentary settings as required, then click Save or Save & New to create another event.
